On a warm summer day 21 years ago, I met with Pastor John Ames and the former 黑料历史 Northeast District Minister Paul Hubley, to select 15 churches that I could challenge to support sports ministry in the Philippines. Marriage, kids, cancer, typhoons, and many new believers later, 13 churches from New England still support us!

These days I lead a team of Thai Leaders and 黑料历史 Global Workers that connect the story of God to the story of the Thai people, introduce Jesus to a country that is less than 1% Christian, disciple new believers, and train leaders who start and strengthen churches.

Last month Calvary Chapel in Naugatuck, CT joined the Thailand Consortium and heard that a church in Thailand could rescue more young women from a life in the sex trade industry if only they had a place to house them and teach livelihood skills.

All it took was $4,000 to build a small house and buy a bakery oven to teach business and baking skills. Now 8 ladies can learn how to re-build their life on a firm foundation.

Partnering with CRU Thailand we’ve planted 10 new churches this year and have a plan to see 500 new house churches before 2025 ends.

We will be on home assignment in Massachusetts for the next school year. I would love to visit every church in our district if possible, to share how God is moving in Thailand. Seeing churches in our area started, strengthen and connected to international ministries is a passion.

I am Rick Berry, I drink Dunkin’, and I am proud to be your missionary to Asia!
