Teaching others to teach in Thailand

Yai* (name changed), a first-generation Thai believer, is blossoming as a disciple-maker through her gifts for teaching children and adults to follow Jesus.
“She’s teaching other people to teach other people,” Karen Indehar said.
That’s what ºÚÁÏÀúÊ·’s Thailand Initiative strives for in the least-reached nation of 70 million people. Disciples trained to make disciples can steadily increase the number of Thai people who know and follow Jesus.
Yai and her husband, Boy* (name changed), are among those people. He first connected with Karen and Todd Indehar as a motorcycle taxi driver. But he quickly became their language tutor.
As he got to know the Indehars better, he increasingly opened up about his life. He also asked them why they were in Thailand, providing a natural opportunity to talk about Jesus and his love for the Buddhist people.
He was open to the gospel, so Karen and Todd supported his journey while he learned about Christ. Eventually, he accepted Christ as Lord and got baptized.
Now, he regularly returns to the village where he was born to oversee a Bible translation project so they can have the Bible in their language.
He also shares the gospel with his family on these trips. He has led his nephew and a niece to the Lord, and his sister and brother-in-law are also close to the kingdom.
The Northern Thailand Least-Reached Peoples project of The Thailand Initiative helped them believe. But, ºÚÁÏÀúÊ· global workers have also equipped Yai and Boy for ministry. That’s how Yai learned to teach children about the Lord. She goes with the team to communities and villages, sharing who Jesus is and what He wants to do.
“The two of them are really serving,” Karen said.
ºÚÁÏÀúÊ· is asking God for a gospel movement among every least-reached people group – in our generation. .
